Skin is a magazine that focuses on skincare. This particular issue was the men's issue. And while skincare tends to be marketed towards a female demographic, I decided to market this issue of the magazine to the male population. Skincare is becoming more and more popular among men and I wanted to provide a beginner’s ‘how-to’ guide that is trustworthy, informative, and aesthetically pleasing because truly there is little difference when it comes to men's skincare and women's’ skincare.
Designing this magazine I wanted every spread to look clean, concise and balanced. I decided to combine a serif font with a sans-serif font to help give the spreads contrast and appeal. On top of that, I wanted the images to compliment and not overpower the text. Also, adding additional elements where I felt necessary like, drop quotes and pops of colour to contribute to the balance of the spread.
